Konami Nabs Saw Rights for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC

A no doubt Mature title on the way.

To put it bluntly, Brash Entertainment was an embarrassment to the video game industry, and deserved every bit of its quick death after only a year and a half in existence. The company was launched in the first place on the premise of cashing in on movie-to-game titles, and horrible titles like Jumper: Griffin's Story and Space Chimps only reinforced the immediate stereotype that Brash's titles would naturally suck as movie cash-ins.

One such movie translation has apparently survived the death of Brash Entertainment, with Variety reporting that Konami has picked up rights to the Saw game that was to be published by Brash (the promo poster for which is shown here) in a deal with Lionsgate. Zombie Studios is still developing the title, with ex-Brash employees reporting to Variety that the game actually looks good so far, unlike Brash's previous releases. Saw is said to be in development for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, with voice talent including Jigsaw himself, Tobin Bell.

Not much is known about Saw at the moment, but Variety speculates that this could be the first in a series of Saw titles from Konami as the deal is a long-term and open one. Naturally, we're expecting an M-rated affair.
